Moneta Reference Edition  - The Roman Imperial Coinage Reference Program.

 
What is the Moneta Reference Edition?
Moneta (pronounced "Mow-nay-tah") was the first of a series of numismatic programs from Numus.
Moneta deals with the Roman Imperial and Provincial series of coins from 27 BC until 498 AD.
Unfortunately some people have many years invested in hard-copy cataloging systems which makes
them unwilling to move to electronic means, but they still desire the reference information and the
lookup databases built into the classic Moneta program.
The Moneta Reference Edition was developed in response to that need, and provides the following:
    1) Reference material on rulers, denominations, and mints
         - equal to over 435 single-spaced pages of background information.
         - the best single source reference available for such information.
    2) A mint mark search system of 7,240 mint marks.*
    3) An obverse inscription search system of over 5,940 obverse inscriptions.*
    4) A reverse inscription search system of over 15,110 reverse inscriptions.*
    5) A true-type font of Latin & Greek characters, and over 70 mint control marks.
    6) A 'City Identifier' with over 1,000 city names and epithets to identify Provincial coins.
    7) Automatic dating from mint marks and  legends when possible.

   The Moneta Reference Edition currently runs on IBM-compatible PC's with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista operating system.
